Meet Poppy, the founder of Kenny and the Sunshine Girls. With over 25 years of hairdressing experience, Poppy opened the salon in 2012 and has created a space that's all about beautiful hair, creativity, and making every client feel their absolute best. She's skilled across precision cuts, gorgeous colour, big bouncy blow waves, upstyles, and hair extensions, with foils done fast, precise, and always on point. She's also a bit of a perm queen — perms are a genuine passion, and she does a lot of them. With over 10 years styling for weddings, she's also a go-to for upstyles and bridal hair that needs to be picture-perfect and last all day. Poppy has a genuine eye for what suits you; often she'll know exactly what will look good on you just by looking at you. She loves a challenge and will always gently encourage a bit of change, even if it's just a little. Whether you're after a subtle refresh or a complete transformation, Poppy's passion, knowledge, and eye for detail will have you leaving feeling confident, refreshed, and completely in love with your hair.

Sarah has 20 years of experience cutting and colouring hair, and she's been the beating heart of our salon since 2014, now leading as our Director Stylist. Her sweet spot is sun-kissed, natural-looking colour, balayage, foils, and highlights, alongside precision cutting — if you want something that looks effortless (and isn't), she's your first booking. She'll also take on bold, vivid colour if that's your thing. Chatty, warm, and refreshingly honest, Sarah won't just do what you ask — she'll tell you what actually suits you, and she'll do it all with a charming smile that puts you at ease the moment you sit down. Clients tend to book her once and stay for years, and it's easy to see why.

With over 12 years of experience, and with us since 2018, Jasper is our go-to for anything bold. She specialises in scalp bleaching, blonde colour correction, vivid colourful hair, vintage styling, and upstyles — the trickier and more creative the brief, the more she loves it. She's also comfortable with balayage and highlights. Chatty and always smiling, Jasper's easy to talk to — ask her about her dogs and settle in, because we can't guarantee she'll run out of dog stories.

Samara joined us in 2020 as an apprentice and has grown into one of our senior stylists — trained up from scratch, and it shows. She's known for long-to-bob transformations with or without layers, curtain fringes, and a blowdry that genuinely holds — ask any of her regulars, it can last a week. She also does beautiful face-framing highlights, and takes her time to get every layer just right. Warm, hardworking, and endlessly patient, Samara puts her heart into every client that sits in her chair.

With us since 2025, Tyra is our resident treatment expert — her scalp treatments and massages are the perfect reset if you want to relax as much as you want great hair. She's also a skilled blowdryer, and is now training in tint application, bringing the same gentle, meticulous care to colour that she brings to everything else. Sweet, shy, and easy to warm to, Tyra's the kind of stylist you'll want to keep coming back to as she grows with us.

Maddy joined us in 2026 as our newest apprentice, training under our senior stylists. Sweet and a little shy, she's soaking up everything she can and already showing real promise. Keep an eye on this one — she's one to watch as she grows with us.
